Help young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality.

At The King’s Trust, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. As an Enterprise Volunteer, you'll use your business knowledge, skills and experience to inspire and support young people facing barriers to employment, education and training. You'll help them build confidence, develop practical business skills and take positive steps towards a brighter future.

We're looking for people with a good understanding of starting and growing a business and experience in areas such as business planning, sales, marketing, finance or running a business. Most importantly, you'll be a great listener who can build trusting relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds, encourage them to believe in themselves and share your expertise in a way that empowers them to succeed independently.

As a Business Mentor, you will:
  • Provide friendly one-to-one mentoring for young people aged 18-30 who have completed our Enterprise and Start Up programme.
  • Help young entrepreneurs develop their business ideas, overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Build confidence, encourage progress and celebrate success as they grow their venture.
  • Meet online, at a King’s Trust centre or in a mutually convenient public location.

Share your expertise as a Trainer

You can also deliver inspiring online workshops on topics such as:
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Finance
  • Business Planning
  • Your own specialist area of expertise

Whether you're helping someone launch their first business or supporting growth in the early years of trading, your knowledge could make a life-changing difference.

What you'll receive
  • Comprehensive training, including mentoring training
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated member of the team
  • Flexible volunteering that fits around your availability
  • The opportunity to join a passionate community of volunteers and colleagues
  • The satisfaction of seeing young people grow in confidence and create successful futures

If you can spare a few hours each month and are passionate about helping young people realise their potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Share your experience. Inspire ambition. Change a future.

If you are an already existing volunteer, please don’t apply here and instead speak to your point of contact for more information on changing roles.
