We're now The King's Trust. And we're still working for young people.

We've changed our name from The Prince's Trust to The King’s Trust. Rest assured, the support we offer young people remains the same. This change marks an exciting new chapter for us, and we hope you'll continue supporting us to transform young lives.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The King’s Trust is looking for a dedicated English & Maths Tutor to support young people in developing their literacy, language, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

This is a standalone role sitting within the Foundations Team in Manchester, where you will play a key part in designing and delivering LLN-focused sessions.

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching in small groups and one-to-one settings, as well as providing training and guidance to staff and volunteers to enhance their ability to support young people in English and maths. You will also work closely with programme teams to ensure LLN skills are effectively embedded into wider youth development initiatives. Experience managing literacy, language, and numeracy projects would be an advantage, along with experience delivering Functional Skills at Level 1 and 2.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a full teaching qualification, as well as a subject specialism at Level 3 or above in English, English as a Second Language (ESOL), or Maths.

You must also have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above and substantial experience teaching young people, with a proven track record of good or exceptional teaching. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, along with the flexibility to adapt to the needs of the role.

This position is based in Greater Manchester, with limited travel outside the area, mainly for training or meetings. If you have experience teaching English and Maths, particularly in Further Education, and are passionate about helping young people succeed, we’d love to hear from you!
